Karen Sullivan Announces Campaign for Mason County Commissioner District 3
Third-generation Mason County resident and 35-year banking professional Karen Sullivan announces her candidacy for Mason County Commissioner District 3, pledging fiscal responsibility and transparent governance.
Karen Sullivan, a third-generation Mason County resident with over 35 years of banking experience, has announced her candidacy for Mason County Commissioner District 3 in the 2026 election.
Why Karen Is Running
"Mason County is at a crossroads," Sullivan said. "With two of three commissioner seats open this year, voters have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of our county government. I'm running because I believe District 3 — and all of Mason County — deserves a commissioner who brings financial expertise, transparency, and a genuine commitment to listening to residents."
Sullivan has spent over 35 years in banking — including 14 years serving Mason County residents as a trusted financial advisor. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Turning Pointe Advocacy Center. She brings that same analytical, planning-oriented approach to her vision for county governance.
Key Priorities
Sullivan's campaign will focus on several core issues:
- Fiscal Responsibility — Bringing professional financial management skills to the county budget process, ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and transparently.
- Public Safety — Addressing staffing shortages in the Mason County Sheriff's Office and strengthening emergency services across the county's 1,051 square miles.
- Infrastructure & Broadband — Maintaining rural roads and bridges while expanding broadband connectivity to underserved areas of District 3.
- Housing Affordability — Working on practical solutions to Mason County's housing challenges without sacrificing the rural character that residents value.
